So the Toolbox project we were required to choose a character e.g. A %! + which is the starting point for our ideas and visual research. For our outcome we should identify and investigate our strongest ideas and concepts. Our outcome could be: 3D model, printmaking, a graphic/illustrative poster, a serious of minimum 5 photographs or a 5 sec edited sequence/animation/gif and supporting storyboard.
Well…
Well first of all, I think I didn’t understand clear what do I need to make as my outcome, I mean what should I tell by my work. So I spend lots of time just collecting letters from outside.
So I decided to visit Academic support after several weeks of suffering. And it helps me to understand what I should do.
So one day, when I visited Barbican, I found beautiful letter L, which was created by lights.
And decided that it can be my outcome, Light around us…from morning to night. The idea was about to find letters form from everywhere, from different surfaces. But I gave up with that idea, because I find it quite difficult.
And other day, when I was playing with my photos from Barbicans buildings (I love that Brutal style), I find out that I can use shapes of buildings to create letters and make a 5 sec video.
So I would like to improve first – my sketchbook. All thought should be linked. Don’t need to explain everything in your sketchbook. Visual thinking is important. Quickly drawing. Your sketchbook is combination what you see and what you think, what is your idea, individual things. Sketchbook is your diary, your experience journal. Whole process should be recording and reflecting (what was success what was difficult)
My sketchbook is heavy and I didn’t bring it everywhere, so I made notes somewhere else, and after spend lots of time to transfer them to sketchbook, some of them lost, so it doesn’t look like a diary thats why it makes me lots of time to understand what im going to do as my outcome.
I would like to improve my time management. Should make a plan and work every day, not doing everything just last minute.
